Nope, I like the cap with the brim. In fact, i had the same thought years ago when i read Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I liked the idea of bringing back the "liberty cap", but preferably with a brim. I thought it amazing to see you had the same thought.

Heinlein was a terrific writer and thinker, but had zero fashion sense. A wool skull cap just looks lame. (especially on a size 7&7/8ths head like mine).

Exactly. It was in the 80s here in Florida last week, we can't be running around in wool caps!

Seems to me that the knitted phrygian cap or toque and the cotton "combat" cap are just good ideas for winter/summer versions.
Remember, Luna may be a climate controlled environment, but Earth is not.

Simon,

I have a red ball cap that I wear in the pursuit of liberty. It says RWVA on it, and is the mark of a Project Appleseed instructor. The Revolutionary War Veterans Association sponsors Project Appleseed, and we teach two things: rifle marksmanship and history - specifically, the story of April 19th, 1775 - Concord & Lexington. More info here: www.appleseedinfo.org.

Keep up the good work, Simon! Keep jabbing Mort the Wart... oops, I mean, Barack and his cronies!
