Sometimes I think we aren’t being the whole truth about things. Then I think that most of the time we don’t even know what the “things” they aren’t telling us the truth about are.

I once told a Green-Card guy I knew that, with his smarts, he
could go home and start his own business.
He smiled sadly, and said:
“Yes, I could, but somebody would just take it away from me.”
True there, false here, because we are an Exceptional Case;
In this country, we do not have to worry about some scumbag with a brother in the military making us an offer we cannot refuse.
We have our problems, and will not solve them quickly or
easily, but solve them we will, in an exceptional way.

Good article, much to think about. The only problem is that I’m not so sure the IMF is all that effective or well staffed.
I think the root of the problem is that we need to stop relying on the same pool of graduates coming out of “elite” schools. These are the people staffing both the higher levels of government and finance. And from what I’ve seen of these graduates and their professors, well, lets just say they seem to lack basic critical thinking skills.
