Hero of the Day, Eh

Today’s hero hails from Canuckistan, a mother of seven (and her uterus deserves a round of applause just for that, people) who tossed her kids, one by one, from a second story window into snowbanks and the arms of waiting neighbors to escape a house fire:

A Montreal mother tossed her seven children one by one from the second-storey window of their burning townhouse Friday as flames and smoke closed in.

Her screams roused neighbours shortly after midnight in a housing block in the city’s east end.

Some of the kids landed in a snowbank after a six-metre fall, while one was caught by the first neighbour at the scene, Sonia Gonzalez.

The entire family survived.

And:

Next-door neighbour Silvia Ramirez said the woman jumped only after neighbours made a frantic head count to reassure her the children were all out.

Now THAT is what I’m talking about.  You do not leave the house if your children are still inside.  Simple.
