Get Your Face Out of My Business

Via Fighting for Liberty comes this delightful tale of a smallish newspaper in New York state that’s attempting to obtain a list of concealed-carry-permit bearers in their county:

The Glens Falls Post-Star wants to know the names of all pistol permit holders in Warren County and has submitted a Freedom of Information Law request to the Warren County Clerk’s Office to obtain a list of the concealed carry permit holders, apparently with the intent to publish those names.

Both FfL and others are doing some digging on this, getting statements from various entities at the newspaper office, and getting different stories each time. Who is telling the truth about the motivation for the request? Who knows, but were it happening in MY county, I’d take it as an attack on my privacy and do my very best to get everyone involved relocated ASAP to the nearest Burger King as third-shift fry cooks.

Of course, you wouldn’t ever want to eat there…

It would be funny if the home addresses and phone numbers of Nick Reisman, Ken Tingley, Mark C. Mahoney and anyone else involved in this were published with a big heading: UNARMED HOUSEHOLDS.

Hell, why stop there, one could even publish any offenses they or their family members had ever been arrested for.

    That would be hilarious.

Well, no, that’d be an attack on THEIR privacy. I just want them demoted to fry cooks for being offensively nosy bastards.

They initiated the attack. It would be nice to see how they enjoy a taste of their own medicine.
